Evaluation
My
initial thoughts when I was handed the brief for Illamasqua was first
excitement then the pressure of wanting to create something so unique
as the brand pride them self on being a one off brand.
The
brand to me screams colour and madness. I wanted to make sure to
create something the brand would be proud of.
When
asked my initial ideas on the first day of the brief I had an open
mind to anything.I found my self always rather fascinated with
circus's and as id never been before I found this a great opportunity
to explore the world of the circus.
I began
my research by looking at the work of Alex Box the creative director
for Illamasqua. I went to a display she did at the university and
have felt inspired ever since.
She
works with the face and works out what will work on that particular
model.
I work
in a similar way so I wanted to find my models early and work out
what the strengths were on my models.
For
this project I have been particularly inspired by shapes in paintings
and also by fashion designers such as Galliano and Westwood.
Through
out this project I have been experimented on my self at home and also
in the studio, this has been very helpful in the development process
and also getting feedback from the group and the teachers always
helps.
I am
very happy with my two final looks and hope to enter them into this
years competition. I love working with Illamasqua as they allow you
to play and let the creativity explode!

My
final beauty images!!!
My beautry shot is very much inspired by the golds you see at the circus and also that lion like look.
The hair is very much inspired by lions and the lips red for that colour most commanly associated with the circus.
I added fullers earth to the hair and the shoulders then painted over using Illamasqua's gold eye shadow.this worked really well and i am happy with the results.
I painted the brows using the same eyeshadow to make them almost sink into the gold feel of the look.
I love this image as she really looks lion like .

My
final fantasy images!!!
I am so happy with these images as they are completely how i see the circus.
Wild and playful,From my vistit to the circus i feel glitter was very appropriate and the wildness of the hair is inpired by the lion you typically asscoiate with circus's,the hair has also been inspired by clowns.
If i was going to do this look again i would have maybe lined the lips with a black line just to give them a bit more deffinition.
I painted the ends of the hair to give the look more of that wild circus clown feel.
This shot is beautiful as you can see the full glisten from the glitter.
I love the reds from the shoulder,an over all very warm shot
Drag circus
Drag queens are very inspirational, and especially as my theme is the circus I want something big bold and beautiful!
Starting with glitter glitter and more glitter!
I love the wild head gear ,feathers and colourful ones at that!!!
Beautiful!!
Pat McGrath for Gallaiano
Mad bold and beautiful!!
Galliano
The textures and colours reminded me of the circus. Such vibrant reds against the glisten of the gold.

More Experimenting
Today I experimented using fullers earth on my model . It went really well and I am happy with the results. For my final look I would like to do less sharp contouring and more subtle. Also I would like to put gold glitter around the face and on op the fore head.
The makeup is based on the idea of face painting at the circus. whilst I was at the circus there was a clown doing face painting and I felt inspired by the lion face painting.
I don't however want the look to be completely lion like but instead have inspiration from it.
face painting at the circus.
A little boy having his face painted.
I like the colours and the bleding around the nose.
On Monday the 29th of April I went to the circus that was playing in my town. The experience was helpful in my research as I got to soak up the atmosphere and also feel like a kid for the day!!
The circus exceeded my expectations and I really had a great night.
For my research I have gathered some images, displaying shapes and colours for me to get inspiration!
Since first starting in 1987, Jay Millers have toured their sensational Circus productions, around the British Isles. Each year proud to be able to showcase a completely new production of talented and versatile artistes, who have been selected from the four corners of the world, for their unique and entertaining abilities.
Some fantastic displays of talent!
Stars and sparkles!
Reds and golds!!!
Anything goes at the circus!
Some real diplays of madness!a woman hangs from this mans neck, whilst he begins to swing her around.
